RSP01 is a water-based paint stripping solution developed specifically for use in the RS Pro Finishes Pro Strip machine.
Free from dichloromethane and hydrofluoric acid, it works by de-bonding the coating from the alloy surface so it can be removed in flakes or sheets. The product is supplied ready to use and operates between 65°C and 75°C, with the machine automatically controlling the temperature throughout the stripping cycle.
Regular filtration, chemical top-ups and sample analysis help maintain reliable stripping performance and extend the useful life of the solution.
Not suitable for magnesium wheels or components. For professional and industrial use only. Always consult the Safety Data Sheet before use.
RSP01 is a water-based paint stripping solution developed specifically for use in the RS Pro Finishes Pro Strip machine.
The solution is free from dichloromethane and hydrofluoric acid, providing an effective alternative to traditional cold immersion stripping chemicals. It works by de-bonding the coating from the alloy surface, allowing the paint to separate in flakes or sheets before being removed using clean water or a pressure washer.
Under normal operating conditions:
Actual stripping times will vary depending on the type, thickness and condition of the coating being removed.
RSP01 is supplied ready to use and does not require dilution or additional chemicals before the machine is initially filled.
The solution should be maintained between 65°C and 75°C. The Pro Strip machine automatically regulates the operating temperature throughout the stripping cycle.
Wheels should be thoroughly cleaned before loading and must be free from brake dust, dirt and other surface contamination. This helps prevent sludge from building up within the machine and supports consistent chemical performance.
Once stripped, the wheels can be rinsed with clean water or pressure washed to remove the loosened coating.
Rinse water and paint residue must be captured and stored for controlled disposal. Local waste and disposal regulations must always be followed.
Chemical activity and water levels will gradually reduce during normal operation. Fresh RSP01 and water will therefore need to be added to maintain the correct balance and stripping performance.
A typical top-up consists of:
The exact top-up ratio may be adjusted following chemical analysis and will depend on the workload and condition of the solution.
To maintain reliable performance, the filtration system must be cleaned regularly in accordance with the Pro Strip machine manual.
After every cycle: Remove paint solids collected by the primary filtration system.
Every morning: Replace the secondary 300-micron filter basket with a clean basket and thoroughly wash the removed filter.
Every week: Operate the Swill cycle using the 500-micron filter followed by the 300-micron filter. Repeat the process until no further paint particles are collected.
Tank life will depend on workload, chemical control and how well the recommended maintenance schedule is followed.
We recommend sending a sample for analysis every four weeks during the first three months of operation. This allows us to monitor the chemical balance and provide more accurate advice on your ongoing top-up requirements.
Samples should include:
We aim to provide results and feedback within two to three working days of receiving the samples.
If the chemical develops a thick, sticky or soup-like appearance, this may indicate dehydration. Stop and send a sample for analysis as soon as possible.
Steel wheels and steel components are not recommended for use in the Pro Strip machine. If steel parts are processed, they must be checked regularly and must not be left in the solution for prolonged periods or overnight.
Magnesium wheels and components must not be stripped using RSP01. Magnesium can react with the solution, potentially causing excessive heat and decomposition of the component.
For professional and industrial use only.
RSP01 is a corrosive chemical that causes severe skin burns and serious eye damage. It is harmful if swallowed or inhaled and may cause an allergic skin reaction.
Suitable protective clothing, chemical-resistant gloves, goggles and face protection must be worn. Respiratory protection may also be required where mist or spray could be generated. The product should only be used in a well-ventilated area following a suitable workplace risk assessment.
Store in the original container in a cool, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight, heat and ignition sources. Keep the container securely closed when not in use.
Always read the Safety Data Sheet and Technical Data Sheet before handling or using this product. The end user is responsible for completing a suitable risk assessment and selecting the correct control measures and personal protective equipment.
